Review: The Griffin shortboard is a feel good board. It is user friendly and makes you feel like you can do anything. And for the most part, you can. The bottom is flat with a touch of vee between the fins making it predictable and comfortable right out of the box. The larger forward fins provide drive while the smaller back fins provide just enough bite for control but not too much to produce drag. The G-10 fins have incredible 'twang', and a single pump just loads up and explodes you down the line with little to no effort. It gives that 6 channel feeling, without the flicking restrictions of a 6 channel. Drive, speed, and power with the ability to crank it in a small space if need be. And air hucks, you ask? Why yes. You can huck airs on this bad boy!
This board is wider than my standard shortboards, but also shorter. Greg nailed the dims, however, despite my concerns of having a "fat" shortboard. It is not "fat" at all, as the wider tail for the five fins maintains a straight rail line on this 6'0". Speed is your friend.
